I'm in deep now . . .

I've been so excited, planning to be a vendor at my first big craft show.  It's the Grimsby Art Festival, with over 140 vendors, on Sept 8, 2012.   I've set up what I think is a pretty decent display, even hemmed up some new table clothes and resurrected some old cork boards and went at them with quilting stuff, fabric and a staple gun.  I've been trying to find time to make lots of vintage inspired chains with charms and Swarovski crytals dangling from them.  I just love them, and hope the crowd will, too.
We are doing a draw at the show and you can get in on it through facebook as well.  Win this
vintage inspired necklace pocket watch!  Go to our Crystal Creations of Niagara page and "Like" us  and you will be included in our draw. Share this blog or the pic on facebook for 2 entries.  Thanks for visiting and maybe I'll see you tomorrow :) . . . in the rain . . .under an umbrella . . .wish me luck

Here's a few more of the necklaces we've been making

Prepping for the Big Day!

It has been a lot of fun helping Karen prep for her wedding day with John.  She was so easy going in figuring out so many of the details needed to get the day in order.  I've had the privilege of putting together the necklace for the bride and her bridesmaids.
Because her dress has a V neck line we went with a V shaped necklace to match.  We went light and delicate with the floating look using Swarovski crystals and ivory pearls.
As gifts the "grown up" bridesmaids received  elegant cream coloured Swarovski pearl necklaces and earrings - classic - one of those "every girl should own one" items in life.
The little bridesmaids received sparkling Swarovski crystals in clear, greys and jet black that will set off their dresses beautifully.  I can't wait to see it all together and get some pics of the sure-to-be beautiful bridal party.  Congratulations, John & Karen!

2nd attempt!

So my leap into blogging didn't work too well.  Here goes another attempt, a "step" into the world of blogging.  My annual entry as it goes -- maybe I can up that to monthly.

Since my last post over a year ago I have discovered the world of "Etsy" and wow, it really is a world of it's own.  The jewelry category alone has over 2 million items in it from I don't know how many people's shops so it's pretty crazy.  The website is worldwide and all handmade or vintage or supplies being sold.  So, yep, you can find me at  http://www.etsy.com/shop/CrystalCreationsOfNi?ref=ss_profile.  Listing items is a challenge of it's own and takes some time but I'm getting the hang of it.  It's pretty cool and I hope you'll take a minute to visit.

Introducing . . .

So, hi! I am jumping into the world of blogging in my efforts to have my jewelry seen by people (and hopefully purchased as well :)   All the profits go towards mission trips that our family members take (hoping it'll be me one day).  In February 2011 Crystal is going to Nicaragua for 6 weeks with 15 students from her high school. I have so much fun creating each piece that I don't think I've done 2 of a kind yet.  Some are so nice though, I'm not going to promise that it will stay that way.  I've called this little endeavour "Crystal Creations of Niagara" because
a) Crystal is my daughter and she got me started (with macrame of all things!) and I actually thought she would be doing a lot of the creating as well  (when the mood strikes it happens still :) so what a fun mother daughter thing it would be
b) the name "Crystal Creations" was pretty popular so I added "of Niagara" to distingush it (and who doesn't LOVE Niagara)
c) crystals (Swarovskis in particular) shine so brilliantly and are absolutely beautiful. I've decided to incorporate at least one crystal in every piece and it will be fun trying to find it sometimes, but generally I use them a lot and they won't be hard to find.
So I'll add some pics and prices and if you like something let me know and we can use Paypal or something (details, details).  Some of the jewelry can also be found at  A. P.  Brown Jewellers at 82 West Main Street in Welland, Ontario where Alison Brown has kindly agreed to have a display, so if you are local you can see it up close before purchasing.  You can also contact me.  Thank you so much for browsing through.
